People never seem to understand
They judge without even trying to understand
Living in a world where freedom is a scarcity
A world where hiding is a normality
It is never easy, being gay
It is even harder to say
It’s like standing still without knowing which way
Hiding in plain sight is the new reign
Africans preach everyday
But they never truly followed the way
Being African and being gay
You could get killed if you so much as say
It’s never easy to be yourself
We all hide in the closet
Only few brave ones come out
And even when you are out we all know
That it’s never easy
If I could I would like to turn back the hand of time
To go back to a time where there is freedom
To live in a world where I could be myself
To live freely without the fear of the society
If I could turn the hand of time
I would like to go back and be born in a different world
Where being a rainbow is not a sin
Where the color of a rainbow does not contradict each other
If I could turn the hand of time
I would like to be able to smile without covering my mouth
I would like to be able to dance in the rain without the eye of the society frowning down on me
I would like to be as I want without society rules bounding me
If I could turn back the hand of time
I would like to be different and live different
I would like to be different and be happy
Only if I can turn back the hand of time
There is a question for the whole world
A question that needs quick answers
A situation that needs to be looked after
There is a situation that needs quick solution
Which way is the way?
All over the world
The hatred seems to be spreading Like wildfire out of control
When are we going to heal?
When are we going to learn?
That we were born this way
That this is not a sickness that needs to be cured
Even all religions preach love
Love is love
Either straight or gay
Either bi or trans
Which way is the way?
To stop the quick rising of eradication of the gays
Especially in African countries
This is more than a fight for freedom
All LGBTQ arise
There seems to be war coming for all of us
A war for freedom
But all we want is peace
Which way is the way?
