How we met was one of those peculiar encounters
You don’t expect much, and you got more than you expected
We spoke and spoke, then it happened
I knew I liked you, I felt it within myself
I woke up every time to read your texts
My sleep filled with pictures of you
My defenses cried “MAYDAY!
“My offenses bolted “NO WAY!”
But you came closer anyway
“No one had ever crossed”
You were determined to do just that
“No one had ever stayed”
You brought your full inventory to stay.
Hours to minutes to seconds, you stayed
Hours to days to weeks, you thrived
Now I feel things I’ve never felt
The butterflies still lurking in my belly
They seem to have made home
I dream about you always
A future with you in full hope
I never expected anyone to love and want me
I never thought it existed
I love the way you love me
The way you want to make me feel loved
Your plans of pleasures never tasted and unfelt
You’re the one I never expected
Now that you’re here,
I can’t watch you leave, I won’t let you go
Not much to offer have I, but I give you my all
Just promise to never hurt me
For those walls when rebuilt will never be broken.

I have never gotten to this point
At least, not that I can recall
It is all fresh to me
I know I like you but may need proof
I think I want you, but I need a surety
Never have I noticed these things about myself:
The smile, the grin, the sparkle and twinkle of my eyes.
It is all coming back to me
Someone asked, ‘Have you ever felt this before?’
My heart thought, ‘We are not ready for this’.
Then my soul said, ‘Just give it a go!’
But my mind said, ‘Logic before Emotions’.
So, I stayed awake all night in consultation with my feelings and thoughts Making sure the alignment was right
Or was it too early to affirm?
My love and passion escalate
My heart beats abnormally supernormal
Everything stops because you are here.
